This girl is excited to have her very own quilt for her big girls bed! I am excited to have a finished top! I ended up with many more block then I needed so my math was way off.

In other news, I joined the Modern Quilt Guild and promptly downloaded all quilt of the month pdf's.
Looking forward to a dairy free Thanksgiving in a couple days!

Having 2 children and no dedicated sewing space has greatly increased my need to plan and prep and attack methodicly. It took almost a month of cutting when I could find the time to get enought pieces for a twin and queen sized Crayon Box Quilt. I am using the instructions from Bonnie Hunter at Quiltville. My personal modifications are no sashings or borders. My husband is pushing for reversible! So we will see. This is a very scrappy and fun pattern.
My daughter loves all the things, so every center square is different. For a twin I am making 54 12 inch blocks, 7x9, with no fabric repeats in the same block.
I finished a quilt I started years ago. It's nice to have it done. I am also working on the quilt I started when pregnant with my daughter, who is now 20 months old.
My other news is that the girls I take care of want to sew, and one asked for a sewing machine for her birthday. Hopefully the hello kitty machine I just found on Craigslist is still available, she loves all things hello kitty.
I also have an official sewing room, and I'm working on making room for three to sew at the same time. Pictures to come soon! I am still unpacking from our move.
Thanks for stopping by!
